During the signup process, we’ll assign you a new 087 VoIP number.

If you do not already have a VoIP phone, simply add one during the signup process. We’ll pre-configure your VoIP phone so that you can simply plug it in and start calling.
If you have your own VoIP phone, enter your Pure VoIP details into your handset, and you’re ready to go. You can also make VoIP calls using a compatible web or app interface.
Once you’re all set up, just sit back and enjoy affordable calls to anywhere in the world. And best of all, calls to any other Pure VoIP number is FREE!

We recommend that you use our VoIP-enabled phone, but other options are also available - such as mobile apps (like Zoiper) or your existing VoIP phone.
If you have an existing VoIP phone, it is important to note that we may not be able to support or assist you in configuring your current phone.
No. You can manually enter your Pure VoIP details into your existing VoIP handset. Just make sure you never give these details out to anyone, as this could compromise the security of your account.

Porting an existing landline number - porting can take up to 14 working days to complete. Read more about porting in our Getting Connected section.
Yes. Pure VoIP is a cloud-hosted service, which means you can take your number anywhere in the world. If you have Fibre or Fixed LTE, then you can cancel your existing landline rental and port your number to Pure VoIP.
Yes. You will be charged a once-off admin fee of R99.00 when you port your existing number. Please note that this porting admin fee is non-refundable.
Only Geographic South African (starting with 01, 02, 03, 04, 05) and Non‑geographic numbers (starting with 087, 080, 086, 0860, 0861) can be ported to Pure VoIP.
Mobile numbers (083, 072 and 061, etc) CANNOT be ported.

We’ll let you know via email once your port request has been accepted. Please note that once the request has been accepted, it can take up to 14 working days for your number to be moved to Pure VoIP.
Your DSL services must be cancelled if you want to port a landline number with an active DSL service. This means you will no longer have DSL internet on that landline number.
We suggest you get a new VoIP number and keep your DSL services.
It can take up to 14 working days to port your landline number to Pure VoIP.
Please note that your existing landline account needs to be settled, or your number will not be released. During the signup process, you’ll also have to complete an authorisation letter allowing your number to be released for use with a VoIP service.
It can take up to three business days. We’ll inform you as soon as your RICA application is approved, after which you can use your Afrihost VoIP service immediately.

There are no monthly line or rental fees for Pure VoIP clients. You only pay for your CallTime monthly, which you can use to call other mobile and landline numbers.
Calls to any other Pure VoIP subscriber are FREE.
Please note that local and international call rates apply.
The cost to call our 087 number is dependent on the network you are calling from.
For example, a local call from a Telkom number to an 087 number charges 67c per minute during office hours. We suggest you ask your service provider to supply you with their latest call rates.
No, it does not cost extra to dial or for someone to call your own 087 number - it incurs the exact cost of a standard landline.

Yes, any unused monthly CallTime will roll over for 3 months.

The Pure VoIP service depends entirely on the quality of the Internet connection you use when making or receiving a phone call.
We only recommend connections that do not generally suffer from congestion or high latency, such as Fibre or Fixed LTE.
Other connectivity types like DSL, 3G, WiFi or Mobile Data will work. However, we do NOT recommend relying on these connectivity types as they are prone to congestion and high latency, which result in poor call quality.
